Who We Are
-
If you looked at my résumé, you'd see entrepreneur, author, speaker, coach, event producer, and business owner.
If you looked at my life, you'd see a guy who's still learning as he goes.
I've spent the last two decades building businesses, leading teams, hosting events, raising capital, writing books, coaching leaders, and speaking to audiences across the country. I've worked with entrepreneurs, executives, athletes, students, and organizations trying to grow through uncertainty, adversity, and change.
But most of the lessons worth sharing didn't come from business.
They came from life.
I've been held at gunpoint.
I've attended more funerals than weddings.
I've watched my younger brother and best friend battle brain cancer.
I've wrestled with anxiety, loss, failure, burnout, and the uncomfortable reality that life doesn't always go according to plan.
Those experiences forced me to ask bigger questions:
What actually matters?
What makes a good life?
How do you keep moving forward when life punches you in the mouth?
Those questions eventually became the foundation of my book, The First Half: Learning as I Go, and the philosophy that guides everything I do today:
Live well. Help others. Enjoy the ride.

I grew up watching my parents build a marriage that's lasted more than 56 years.
They also adopted my sister, teaching me early that family isn't always about biology, it's about showing up.
I was the class clown.
An athlete.
Competitive at just about everything.
I was fortunate enough to be named Athlete of the Year in college, though my friends would tell you I still haven't stopped talking about it.
These days you'll find me playing beach volleyball, chasing sunsets, listening to Johnny Cash, Jimmy Buffett, or country music, enjoying tequila with friends, and appreciating a cold beer on the beach whenever life allows.
I also somehow found the needle in the haystack and married the love of my life later than expected, but right on time.
Together, my wife and I serve as Partner and COO of CWB, adopted an amputee rescue dog who runs the house, and are preparing for our greatest adventure yet: becoming parents.

Today, I speak, coach, and advise leaders, entrepreneurs, teams, and individuals who want more than success on paper.
They want a life that feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside.
My work isn't about hacks, hustle, or pretending life is easy.
It's about helping people stay true to who they are, embrace the challenges they can't avoid, and leave people, places, and situations better than they found them.
I'm not an expert who's figured everything out.
I'm simply a student of life who believes the best lessons are learned through experience, and shared generously with others.
I'm still learning.
Still growing.
Still getting it wrong sometimes.
Still moving onward and upward.
